Welcome! Willkommen! Bienvenidos!

Welcome to FUMC, where it is our desire to be a place of peace for all, a faith community joining together in the movement towards God’s vision for the world. We are in the midst of a very exciting name change -- soon we will be 'Peace Church on 52nd' with a new webiste and new signs!

Getting to know our Aboriginal Neighbours...

Two events coming up to help us get to know and better interact with our Aboriginal neighbours:

1. Saturday June 15th -- National Aboriginal Day
Mosaic Church (4th and Columbia) is having a celebration from 2-7pm and would love to have you come out to help out in setting up, taking down, or simply taking part and learning a bit more about Aboriginal Culture.

2. Saturday June 29th -- TRC Preparation Day
Our church is hosting a multi-church information session from 9-4, featuring guest speakers including Brander McDonald (MCBC Indigenous Relations Coordinator) and a residential school survivor. This event is meant to help us prepare for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which will be coming to Vancouver in September.

Community Garage Sale!

South Hill's annual Neighbourhood Garage Sale Day is happening Saturday June 22 starting at 10am. We're looking for items to sell, baked goods to sell/give away, and volunteers to help us connect with our neighbours and run the sale! Please contact Steve Berkenpas ( or call the church office if you can help in any way.

Joint Baptism Service!

Next Sunday, on June 2nd, we will be having our joint service with First United Spanish Mennonite Church (FUSMC) to celebrate the season of Pentecost together!

And the gift of the Spirit means three things: baptism, speaking in many different languages (English and German and Spanish, oh my!), and table fellowship (both around the communion table, and around the tables downstairs as we share in a fundraising lunch for the Spanish Resource Centre. So come join us as we welcome in newly baptised Christians, as we join together in fellowship, and as we enjoy some good food!

Peter, Peter, Peter...

Leave behind your fishing nets, leap in the water, and swim on over to the 'Sermons' tab -- our next two sermons from our Simon Peter series are up. Tim Bratton's sermon on John 21 comes highly recommended!
