Welcome! Willkommen! Bienvenidos!

Welcome to FUMC, where it is our desire to be a place of peace for all, a faith community joining together in the movement towards God’s vision for the world. We are in the midst of a very exciting name change -- soon we will be 'Peace Church on 52nd' with a new webiste and new signs!

Upcoming Special Services

June 24th: After a regular Sunday service, we'll be having our congregational meeting, so please stay for pizza and some discussion about our committees, our vision and values, and other important topics!

July 1st: We'll be having a joint service with Sherbrooke Mennonite Church, including communion. Pastor Phil Routly from Sherbrooke will be preaching!

Community Dinner on Thursday June 28th

Our next Community Dinner will be on Thursday June 28th at 6pm -- come on out for some good food and a chance to get to know your neighbours and church family! If you'd like to help with the cooking or cleanup on this meal, please talk to Lydia or Al Fleming

Faith and Mental Health Workshop

On Saturday June 2 from 10am -12, Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries will be running a workshop on mental health in the FUMC church basement (659 East 52nd Ave.), to learn more about mental illness and to help us learn to be Christ's love, light, and hope to those in need of support. This workshop is free and all are welcome, so please bring a friend!

Vote on Name Change this Sunday!

We'll be having a brief congregational meeting this Sunday, June 3rd, to discuss and vote on the following motion:

Motion: That FUMC change its name to “Peace Church on 52nd”.

Attached is the rationale of why the Vision Committee and Church Council are endorsing this name, and why we think it'll help us move forward with revitalisation. Please come on out this Sunday and make your voice heard!
