Mother's Day Flowers (Fundraising for Kingcrest)

Kingcrest International Neighbours, an ESL ministry that runs out of our education, is doing a fundraiser for Mother's Day!

Sign up sheets are on the door in the foyer and you can get a lovely cyclamen plant to pick up on Sunday May 14th and deliver to someone you know who is a biological (or spiritual) mother to you. Suggested donation is $10-20.

God says: “Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk, I who took them up in my arms; but they did not know that I healed them. I led them with cords of human kindness, with bands of love. I was to them like those who lift infants to their cheeks. I bent down to them and fed them.”
~ Hosea 11:3-4

He is Risen!

Christ is Risen, Hallelujah! Please go to our 'Sermons' Tab to hear Lydia's Easter Sunday message "Death is not the End"

How Shallow Former Shadows Seem

The final poem from our Good Friday joint service this morning:

How shallow former shadows seem beside this great reverse,
As darkness swallows up the Light of all the universe:
Creation shivers at the shock; the Temple rends its veil;
A pallid stillness stifles time; and nature’s motions fail.

This is no mid-day fantasy, no flight of fevered brain.
With vengeance awful, grim, and real, chaos is come again:
The hands that formed us from the soil are nailed upon the cross;
The Word that gave us life and breath expires in utter loss.

Yet deep within this darkness lives a Love so fierce and free
That arcs all voids and—risk supreme!—embraces agony.
Its perfect testament is etched in iron, blood, and wood;
With awe we glimpse its true import and dare to call it good.
