Announcements

September Events at our Church

A whole bunch of meetings and events are happening as we move into the fall. We'd love to have you join us at any or all of these!

Drop-in Centre: Our outreach to local kids begins again, this year on Wednesdays and Thursdays 3-5pm. First drop-in will be Thursday Sept 7th, and we're always looking for new volunteers!

Community Dinner: As part of expanding our drop-in ministry, we'd like to host a community dinner on Thursday Sept 21st at 6pm. Contact Lydia Cruttwell or Chris Banfield if you want to help with setup, cooking or hosting!

Prayer and Communion: Our monthly prayer meetings start up again on Wed. Sept 6th at 7:30pm.

Poetry & Parable Smallgroup: Lydia would like to lead a small group looking at the sayings of Jesus, and some poetry on those sayings written by Anglican Christian Malcolm Guite. This small group will likely meet on Wednesday evenings twice a month in Sept, Oct. and November. Please let Lydia know if you're interested in attending.

May God guide us this fall as we seek to pray and follow Jesus, care for one another, and reach out to our neighbours!

Summer Prayer Service (August 16th)

On Wednesday August 16th at 7:30pm, Lydia will be leading a Summer Prayer Service in the basement of the church building -- we'll be praying together for our church, our city, and our world.

Joint Service Sunday (August 6th)

We forgot to announce it at our service last Sunday, so here's a quick reminder: DON'T COME TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY!

(that is, don't come to the FUMC building on Sunday, August 6th -- instead, head over to Sherbrooke Mennonite Church (7155 Sherbrooke St.) at 10am for our joint communion service with FUSMC and SMC. Come join us as we worship with dear brothers and sisters!)
