FUMC's Vision Statement

Responding to God’s Grace, revealed to us in Jesus Christ, through: worshipping, welcoming, discipling, and serving in the diverse community in which God has placed us

We worship through words, songs, prayers, and silence, as well as through baptisms and the Lord's Supper. We worship not just on Sundays, but throughout the week as well, in our prayer groups, in our own devotional lives, and with our acts of service to our neighbours both near and far.

Potlucks, Community dinners, ESL classes, the drop-in centre, the MCC resource centre and refugee office, opening up our building to be used by multiple different congregations and outreach organisations are some of the ways that welcoming happens at FUMC.

Sunday sermons, small groups, teaching sessions, and one-on-one mentoring are all part of the work of discipling believers as they seek to follow Jesus Christ as Lord.

Serving happens through all the ways people use their gifts for others. This includes serving on boards and committees, teaching, cooking for Inner Hope or our own Community Dinners, volunteering at the Drop-In Centre or the MCC thrift store, visiting those who are lonely or ill, sewing blankets, putting together relief kits, donating and moving furniture for newcomers and participating in Community Events.
