Services for Easter

Footwashing Service (Joint with FUSMC): Thursday April 13th, 7pm. Come join us in the church basement for this moving service remembering Christ's call for us to serve and love one another.

Good Friday Service (Joint Service at Culloden MB Church, 6060 Culloden St.): Friday April 14th, 10:30am. This service will feature communion, an offering in support of Place of Refuge, and a string quartet playing Joseph Haydn's "Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross." Coffee Fellowship happens beforehand in Culloden's gym, starting at 9:30am.

Easter Sunday Service: Sunday April 16th, 10am. To aid us in joyfully celebrating Christ's resurrection, we will have a 'flowering cross' -- please bring a few stems of flowers (from your garden or from a store) to help us decorate the cross.

Baked Goods Needed for Good Friday and Easter Sunday services!

Part of FUMC's contribution to our joint Good Friday service is making baked goods for coffee time -- please let Lydia or Heather know if you are able to help out with this. Baked goods will need to be delivered to Culloden church at 9:30am on Friday morning.

Also, we'd love it if those of you who do Easter baking (Paska or otherwise) could bring in some of it to share after our Easter Sunday service. Again, please contact Lydia or Heather in the church office if you would like to contribute.

Panic Squad Comedy Show (MCBC Fundraiser)

Live Comedy Night featuring clean-and-funny improv group "The Panic Squad" -- Saturday April 1st at 7pm at Sherbrooke Mennonite Church. All proceeds will benefit Mennonite Church British Columbia. Tickets $10 for youth (12-21), $20 for adults, and free for kids!

Lent 2017

Our theme for Lent this year is "Restore us, O God!" May we know the power and grace of God's restoration as we take time to pray, reflect on the story of Jesus Christ, and prepare ourselves for Good Friday and Easter.

FUMC Baking Session

If you've ever wanted to learn how to make Butterhorns, now's your chance! We'll be baking these sweet treats together in the FUMC church kitchen on Saturday March 11th, starting at 9:30am. Dough and jam will be provided -- but please bring your own rolling pin (and a rolling mat, if you want one), a cup or two of sugar, and a big tupperware container to take the 'Hornchen' home in. All ages are welcome, both men and women, just please let Lydia Cruttwell or Lina Fast know if you're planning to come, so we know how much dough to make!
