Small Group Feedback & Suggestions

As our Vision Committee continues to think about ways for our church to revitalise, one of our major topics of discussion has been small groups. While in the past we had a number of 'care groups', over the last number of years they've dwindled, and we want to get them re-started sometime in the new year. This is important for revitalisation and mission because it not only provides a place where regular attenders can grow deeper in relationship with one another and with God, it also provides an 'on ramp' for newcomers to start getting involved in our community beyond Sunday mornings.

If you have any feedback for us about what format/structure would work best for you in a small group (size, format of the meeting, meeting time and frequency, etc.) please pass these comments on to anyone from the Vision Committee -- Lydia Cruttwell, Rose Bergen, Adam Back, Hans-Gerhard Fast, Jon Janzen, and Elizabeth Penner.

Welcome, Adam!

We are delighted to welcome our new Co-Pastor, Adam Back, and his wife Charlene, into our community! Adam is a native of Houston, TX who first came to Vancouver to study at Regent College. He has a passion for theology and helping God's people learn to be faithfully present in the neighbourhood. He's also an accomplished painter and avid fisherman. May God bless him as he helps us in our revitalisation efforts!

Community Dinner -- Thursday November 16th

Come one, come all, to our next "Community Dinner" at 6pm on Thursday November 16th in the church basement. Come have some free food and have a chat with your neighbours, both from our church community, and from the surrounding neighbourhood. We want to build relationships and show the love of God to all!

Peace Sunday

As we draw near to Remembrance Day, we seek to remember those who have died in armed conflict, and to work for peace in the world. We encourage everyone to take extra time to pray for peace in the coming days, and offer this resource (from the Mennonite Central Committee) as a guide to your prayers:
May the Prince of Peace rule in our hearts and throughout the world!

Pastoral Candidating -- Q&A this Saturday!

Come join us in the church basement this Saturday, November 11th from 9-11am as we hear more from Adam Back, our pastoral candidate. Pastor Lydia will be asking him some questions about his life and ministry experience, and then you'll get a chance to ask him some questions of your own. Coffee and treats will be provided as well!
