Mennonite Church Canada Assembly

Last week (June 5-7) was the annual meeting for Mennonite Church Canada. Those who gathered in Saskatoon enjoyed a good time of meeting together, singing, and conducting some of the "business" of the church. A few highlights:
- discussion around what it means to be a faithful church in the midst of disagreements
- reports on the ongoing growth and development of Mennonite churches across the country
- a resolution committing the national church, area conferences, and local churches to actively promoting Jesus' message of peace, in the face of increasing Canadian militarization

More information on these discussions and other Assembly happenings can be found at the Mennonite Church Canada website: http://www.mennonitechurch.ca/events/saskatoon2009/
